CAREER POLITICIANS BLEE AND CONOVER SAY ANYTHING TO GET RE-ELECTED...EVEN WHEN THE FACTS DON'T ADD UP"WHAT A SHOCKER! CAREER POLITICIANS BLEE AND CONOVER SAY ANYTHING TO GET RE-ELECTED...EVEN WHEN THE FACTS DON'T ADD UP"
Egg Harbor Township – Second District Assembly Candidates Jim Whelan and Damon Tyner challenged Republicans Frank Blee and Kirk Conover to cut the campaign rhetoric and explain their real records to voters.
"Its unfortunate that some people would say anything to get re-elected," said Tyner. “This certainly takes the cake.
“While we are out there offering fresh ideas and real solutions to tackle our worst problems, Blee and Conover are desperately putting out attack ads and mailers that mislead the public about my record as Mayor of Atlantic City and their records in Trenton, said Whelan.
MYTH: Blee and Conover claim they have stood up for Atlantic County when it comes to homeland security funds.
TRUTH: The Blee/Conover record shows otherwise. When it came to calling on Congress to release first responder funds from the federal government, Conover voted “no and Blee missed the vote altogether (AR-66).
MYTH: Blee and Conover claim they stood up for Atlantic County to get additional funding for our schools.
TRUTH: Blee and Conover voted AGAINST this year’s state budget that provided the following:
o $22,000 for Atlantic County Vocational
o $5,600 for Corbin City
o $311,600 for EHT
o $187,200 for Greater Egg Harbor Regional
o $64,800 for Mainland Regional
MYTH: Blee and Conover tried to save the NJ SAVER property tax rebates.
TRUTH: Blee and Conover not only voted against the budget that restored rebates for seniors and the disabled, they also support Trenton Republicans’ plan to eliminate ALL rebates.
MYTH: Blee and Conover have reduced our taxes, spending, and debt.
TRUTH: Blee and Conover are two of the biggest tax and spend liberals in Trenton. They have increased taxes, spending, and debt in Trenton and Atlantic County over the last 24 years. Conover increased spending by 165%, debt service by 322%, and taxes by 237% as a Freeholder. Blee on the other hand voted to increase state spending by 44% and increased state debt by 30% in Trenton.
Whelan and Tyner again renewed their challenge to Blee and Conover to face them in a public debate so they can be held accountable to Atlantic County residents.

“She has already chosen the interests of the insurance industry over the health care needs of working people, she took millions from Wall Street as the economy went into a meltdown, and now she wants to purchase a job in Congress at a time when so many have lost their jobs because of the actions of big bankers and others." -- Monmouth County Democrats spokesman Mike Mangan, on Republican Diane Gooch, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone.
