CASHA PROUD OF HIS TAX AND SPEND RECORD
Highlights his inability to make tough decisions on spending
Morris Plains, NJ – Responding to Assembly candidate Larry Casha’s assertion that he “knows how to make the hard decisions” when it comes to cutting spending, Webber for Assembly spokeswoman Amanda Woloshen today released the following campaign statement.
“Mr. Casha can try spinning his record any way he wants, but the bottom line is that just last year when his constituents in Kinnelon told him to cut spending by voting down the school budget, Mr. Casha failed them. Adding insult to injury, Mr. Casha called the voters ‘emotional’ and not ‘logical’ for wanting to cut their own taxes, and he passed the school budget without finding a single cent of savings. When it came time to make the ‘hard decisions’ last year, Mr. Casha was nowhere to be found. Instead, he claimed that he had ‘no choice’ but to hike taxes.
“The difference between Mr. Casha and Jay Webber on the issue of spending is crystal clear. Jay is a conservative who helped the United States Congress cut spending and balance the budget. Jay has already saved New Jersey taxpayers billions of dollars by standing up to the Jim McGreevey crowd in Trenton and beating them in the Supreme Court. Mr. Casha, on the other hand, likes to raise spending and taxes, and has saddled Kinnelon taxpayers with the highest property tax burden in this district. Fortunately, with a contrast like that, Republicans will have a clear choice when they go to the polls on June 5th.”
