Gov. Christopher Christie has nominated Ronald DeFilippis, a veteran campaign treasurer, to serve as a Commissioner of the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC). DeFilippis will take the seat vacated earlier this year when Peter Tober resigned to join the governor’s staff. DeFilippis will join Amos Saunders, a former Superior Court Judge as a Republican member of the commission. Christie has already two Democrats -- former Assembly Majority Leader Albert Burstein (D-Tenafly) and former State Sen. Jerry Fitzgerald English (D-Summit) -- with former Assistant U.S. Attorney Walter Timpone and former Superior Court Judge Laurence Weiss.
