Robocalls made by the Democratic State Committee on behalf of independent gubernatorial candidate Christopher Daggett represents an illegal in-kind campaign contribution, according to lawyers for GOP candidate Christopher Christie. In a letter to the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission, Christie campaign counsel Stephen Edelstein asked for an immediate investigation and wants ELEC to tell the Democrats to stop.
Edelstein served as Counsel to the Democratic State Committee in the 1980's and 1990's.
