The Home News Tribune has urged the ouster of the most incumbent legislators this year: six. The HNT called for the defeat of Linda Greenstein (D-Plainsboro), Wayne DeAngelo (D-Hamilton), Joseph Egan (D-New Brunswick), Upendra Chivukula (D-Franklin), Patrick Diegnan (D-South Plainfield), and John Wisniewski (D-Sayreville). Only Peter Barnes (D-Edison) survived the wrath of the editorial board. But the HNT also endorsed three incumbent Democrats for re-election to the Middlesex County Board of Freeholders.
The Courier-News wants five incumbents, all Democrats, to be defeated: Linda Stender (D-Fanwood), Gerald Green (D-Plainfield), Egan, Chivukula, and Diegnan. They endorsed three GOP incumbents, Peter Biondi (R-Hillsborough), Denise Coyle (R-Bernards), and John DiMaio (R-Hackettstown) and Barnes.
The Courier-Post wants four Democratic legislators gone: five-term Assemblymen Herbert Conaway (D-Delanco) and Jack Connors (D-Pennsauken); and two special election winners -- State Sen. James Beach (D-Voorhees), who went to the Senate after John Adler became a Congressman; and Assemblywoman Celeste Riley (D-Bridgeton), who won a special election convention earlier this year after Douglas Fisher resigned to become state Secretary of Agriculture. The Gloucester County Times also advocated the defeat of Riley, and the Burlington County Times said Coway should go.
The Record endorsed Republican challengers running against Frederick Scalera (D-Nutley), Joan Voss (D-Fort Lee), and Connie Wagner (D-Paramus); they endorsed ten incumbents for re-election - seven Democrats and three Republicans. The Record also called for the ouster of Democratic Freeholders in Bergen and Passaic counties.
The Press of Atlantic City endorsed a Republican challenger against freshman Assemblyman Matthew Milam (D-Vineland). The newspaper backed five incumbents - one Democrat and four Republicans.
The Vineland Daily Journal endorsed Milam, but urged the defeat of Assemblyman Nelson Albano (D-Vineland). The paper also wants Riley gone.
The Trenton Times is supporting five incumbents seeking re-election -- four Democrats and one Republican -- but says that voters should dump Ronald Dancer (R-Plumsted) from his Assembly seat.
The Asbury Park Press endorsed ten incumbent legislators - all Republican. The Express-Times endorsed one incumbent, and the Daily Record has not yet endorsed in legislative races,
The Star-Ledger, the state's largest daily newspaper, did not endorse any legislative candidates; in 2007, the endorsed only one - Jennifer Beck (R-Red Bank), who ousted an incumbent Democratic State Senator in District 12. Thirty years ago, the Star-Ledger endorsed in most districts across the state.

"Ouster of Bergen Freeholders"
I wonder why the Record Endorsed John Driscoll and Rob Hermansen for Bergen County Freeholder?
Perhaps they saw this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT2KRO6RcqY
That, and perhaps they too realized what most people in Bergen have figured out: Freeholders Julie O'Brien and Vernon Walton are part of a Freeholder Board that lacks all respect for the Bergen County Tax Payer.
Come November 3rd, make it easier on your wallet and vote Driscoll/Hermansen for Bergen County Freeholder.
Sad State of Affairs
First of all, Camden County should have been the focus of urging the defeat of these particular Political Machine Candidates. Instead, they decided to sell out to the Political Machine and get paid for advertising and the like. The agreement to probably endorse these Machine Candidates and highlight them with positive news stories while omitting the people who can really make a difference in New Jersey are silenced from media.
It is the Media who can be the voice for the people and help them in dire need instead, the media throughout NJ agreed to bow down to the Political Machine madness. Money over People. Wrong over Right. Evil over Good. Selfishness and Arrogance overpowering the people and the weak. We Should Not be electing any Political Machine Candidates. What have they done for New Jersey. NOTHING. Look at Camden, NJ. You have Redd and Norcross running. They have ruled Camden for Decades and look at the condition it is in today. It is the Poorest most poverty stricken place in the Nation. It has been ignored by the Political Machine and made as a financial haven for future greedy Political Machine Politicians to make money and profits from the grants money that is being sent into the town. Hospitials to have state of the art above and beyond. Meanwhile people have no money, no food. NOTHING. You have a woman running who was City Council, then she was a Senator a (STATE) Senator, now she is running for Mayor. What is going to change. She is just a Norcross Puppet and the only thing that is going to change is the prison will probably become a Casino, it will be another Atlantic City only in Camden. The people will scrub floors and work a $10 an hour security job. There will be no real substance and no hope for the people.
The jobs that will be created will go to Political Machine families, friends and associates. People who are loyal and willing to partake in the madness that keeps it GOING. Money money money will make people sell their soul to the Devil. Meanwhile the Media stays out of Bankruptcy and collects a check and keeps it Going with stories that satisfy the Political Machine. He continues to rule and the people continue to do as they are told and SHUT UP.
