Kyrillos calls Christie at U.S. Attorney's office 48 times

Republican State Sen. Joseph Kyrillos (R-Middletown) is part of GOP gubernatorial candidate Christopher Christie's inner circle; some details of their friendship are apparent in a log of calls from Kyrillos to Christie between 2002 and 2008.  Kyrillos left messages for Christie at the U.S. Attorney's office 48 times between 2002 and 2008, including 19 times while Kyrillos was the Republican State Chairman, according to a log of Christie's incoming phone calls requested by the Corzine campaign as part of an extensive series of document requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

The Corzine campaign received the phone logs late Friday.

Most of the phone messages shed little information as to the topics Christie and Kyrillos were discussing.  Kyrillos tended to call after 5PM, and would usually leave a message that offered little detail.

Kyrillos did call Christie on April 22, 2002, the day Todd Christie wrote a $225,000 check to the Republican State Committee.

These records don't reflect completed calls, or incoming calls from Christie to Kyrillos, if there were any at all.

How many times did George

How many times did George Norcross call the Governor's office?

The Hatch Act Was Violated...

...in numerous ways.

Whatever happens on Tuesday (I predict Corzine wins by about 5 points) , an independent special prosecutor is needed to investigate Christie's many dubious actions as US Attorney.

As for Boss Norcross calling the guv; it wouldn't surprise me if that happened; but it's legal if he did.......if he was calling Ann Milgram on a regular basis, that would be another kettle of fish.....and that's the analogous situation vis a vis Christie who was/is constrained by legal and ethical rules to keep his office free from politics.

I would LOVE to see ALL of the corruption in government criminalized and prosecuted and punished.....and I don't care about the party affiliation!

Gotta Love'em

Where were all these "outraged" Democrats when Uncle Corzine was hiding his hundreds of e-mails between himself and Karla Ratz? Where's the outrage at Lautenberg and Menenedez for pressuring the FDA to approve faulty medical pieces? The answer? They're not mad at all. So long as Democrats keep handing out goodies, little things like this mean very little...

Nick Lento--are you for real?

Do you have a clue---or just enjoy spewing venom? Kyrillos has been a friend of Christie's for 20 years--my God you're a dope. Get ready to say it Nick---Governor Christie.

That's 1 call every 6 weeks.

Given the level of corruption in New Jersey, he should have called him once per hour.

Corzine+Katz+Ferriero+Norcross+Doria= CORRUPTION

It's illegal for a state senator to call the U.S. Attorney's office.

 Oh no wait. Its not.

Wow...

...Is it me or is this a real stretch? I could understand the outrage if Kyrillos and Christie didn't associate with each other at all before his time as US Attorney, but if they were friends for years is this is wrong? Or would it have been better if Kyrillos called Christie on his cell phone v. his office phone?

Honestly, like other posters have said, if this is wrong, then Corzine continuing his questionable "friendship" with Carla Katz as head of the state's largest union is just as murky. I'm sure an equal investigation as to whether Corzine sent all those emails during the negotiations from a private email address on a state computer in the Governor's office could reveal interesting results as well.

Regardless, I just think we're stretching this a bit.  It would be one thing if there was no history between the two; but if they were friends before he was ever US Attorney, I can't imagine this really making a dent.

The Hatch Act

Again - Nick is whining. You obviously know nothing about the Hatch Act. What a twit.
