Fired Up!
I would love for Christie to plant his flag in the quicksand of perpetuating concentrated poverty. Affordable housing should be a shared responsiblity throughout the state. And if there is anyone here who wants to defend the practice of legalized segregation, whether it be economic or racial; challenge the leadership of a Governor who abolished the Regional Cooperation Agreements, or otherwise seek to propose that we go back to the "good old days" I say, bring it on.
Yes, I think this would provide an excellent public debtate to fire up the democratic base for Corzine. Corruption was getting to be so stale.

"Yes, I think this would provide an excellent public debtate to fire up the democratic base for Corzine. Corruption was getting to be so stale." It certainly puts Republicans like Christie in an awkward position. They have to oppose building homes for low and middle income families in the suburbs while at the same time deny that they are facilitating defacto segregation. They also have to avoid the hypocrisy of supporting free markets and private property rights while denying the right of developers to build cheap housing for low and middle income families.
Reed Gusciora - Posterchild for COAH Waste
Reed lives in affordable housing in Princeton subisdized by taxpayers. He is a lawyer/legislator with mutliple government jobs. Why does he live in affordable housing when there are people who actually need it? If rich people squatting in affordable housing like Reed got out, there would be no need to build more and wreck more open fields. When will someone in the press write about Reed living in subsidized housing even though he has multiple government incomes and a law degree? When will someone finally make the point that people like Reed help create the long wait for poorer people who actually need affordable housing but can't find it?
UNCONSTITUTIONAL
Mt Laurel 1 and 2 are unconstitutional.
We already have affordable housing its called the market ( down by 30% )
What NJ taxpayers needs is AFFORDABLE TAXATION and NOT HOUSING FOR MEXICAN ILLEGALS.
LANDSCAPERS DONT PAY TAXES
I'm w/ Stupid
There are always going to be asses who try to or successfully game the system. But as my Captain once told me "in the end, people get what they deserve...you may not be around to see it, but in the end, they get what they deserve." Those words have stuck with me ever since.
I was and am still disgusted to learn that while I was trying my hardest to figure out why "some people" just could not seem to pull themselves out of poverty, and my Reagan Democratic instincts inclined me to look the other way; that the Regional Cooperation Agreement's (RCA's) effectively bottled up American people, CHILDREN, in pockets of poverty, locked into a system of substandard education, poor diet, pervasive alchohol use and abuse, lack of recreational services, increased police presence, gang violence and the list goes on.
I will have to rely on my Captain's advice that those officals who created, participated and would now seek to resurrect this system of segregation, will, "in the end, get what they deserve." And given the fates of some (TORCH/James/Bryant/ and now Christie), I am confident they will.
Best regards to all.
