Crecco pleads not guilty
By Wally EdgeAnthony Crecco, a former East Hanover Councilman and longtime member of the Morris County Board of Taxation, pleaded not guilty today to charges that he stole $278,650 from his lodge, the Florham Park-Fairfield Elks. Crecco allegedly spent the money gambling in Atlantic City. The Republican has other problems: prosecutors have accused him of rigging a 2004 raffle, awarding a county contract to someone he with a private business connection to him, and underpaying sales tax on his Mercedes.
