N.J. reality TV housewife is possible congressional candidate

New Jersey housewife Danielle Staub has not ruled out a campaign for Congress against U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson) next year, according to her spokesman, Thom Ammirato.

"At this point Ms. Staub is fielding numerous offers and has ruled out nothing.  Her advisors will be discussing her future shortly," said Ammirato, a Republican strategist who recently signed on as Staub's official spokesman.

But is the controversial star of Bravo's TV reality show, The Real Housewives of New Jersey a Republican?

"I don't know, but she can become one," said Ammirato.  "She would have to of course meet with the approval of (Passaic County GOP) Chairman Scott Rumana to see if she could get the line."

Staub, a 48-year-old mother of two, recently moved from Franklin Lakes to Wayne, which is in Pascrell's district.

According to her Bravo bio, Staub is active in her local parish and attends mass regularly.  She has admitted to being arrested 25 years ago, but has denied reports that she was involved in prostitution or in a cocaine ring.

Superior Court Judge Thomas Brogan issued an order temporarily preventing Staub's former boyfriend, Lincoln Park resident Stephen Zalewski, from releasing photographs and tapes that allegedly show the two engaged in sex acts, according to a report in The Record this afternoon.

For extreme political junkies: Albert "Tiny" Manzo, the father-in-law of Staub nemesis Caroline Manzo, was a candidate for Mayor of Paterson in 1974.  He finished a distant third in a field of five candidates in a race where Lawrence "Pat" Kramer unseated incumbent Thomas Rooney in a runoff.  His 1983 murder remains unsolved.  Caroline Manzo's husband, who owns The Brownstone in Paterson, was a contributor to Pascrell's campaign.

ugh...

Great Candidate Passaic GOP! Keep up the good work!

It must be a summer Wednesday

1. This "story" has no legs, although Ms. Staub does.

2. No way Staub runs for Congress -- it doesn't pay enough to suit her lifestyle. Just watch one episode and you'll know what I mean.

3. At the same time, I doubt Bill Pascarell is worrying too much. The 8th District remains solidly Democratic, and check out http://www.thesmokinggun.com for details re: Ms. Staub's "youthful indiscretions."

Such BS

This post by Wally is based on absolutely nothing other than some vague comment by a spokesman for the loser faction of the Passaic GOP. Just trying to stir up trouble. No one would seriously consider this woman as a candidate for public office. Though, I gotta admit, it would be fun watching old man Pascrell deal with sexpot during a debate. But I can live without it....

I nearly choked reading this

Ammirato- P-l-e-a-s-e!!! Murph is alligned with the Manzo's so she will definitely not be on the Republicans for a bettter PC line. I have to admit it, I like Caroline.

I mean really, no offense to Ms. Staub, but I think a flipped table at Lunellos would seem like an evening with Mr. Rogers compared to entering Passaic County Politics.

Wally, the Albert "Tiny" Manzo story is typically reported in the papers with limited details. The ladies should simply acknowledge it and move on.

Thom

all I can say is move over Woodbyrne.
Let the bimbo eruptions begin.

I just read the complaint

TRULY a May/December romance!

I don't understand, is this a civil complaint or a criminal complaint?

I guess this is the only case in which it may be alleged that there was "false lighting"

"The undersigned did forward some photographs to the Defendant, Zalewski, however, did not permit the Defendant, Zalewski to videotape me at any time."

What?

Can't Wait

Where was Chris Christie when all this was going on?

He could have prevented potential political corruption!

Can't wait for his pice for AG.

is botox a legit campaign expense????

and will she have anything left over for lawn signs?

JevAvery, While I can not

JevAvery,

While I can not say if I would vote for her or not, I hardly think a sex tape or drug use should disqualify her for public office.  I mean really, a sex tape?  Who hasn't had sex?  So she filmed it.  So what.

And drug use?  Really.  You think for one second that our politicans have not snorted the occasional blow.  Get your head out of your a** if you believe that.

What I find hypocritical is that most of the people bashing her would be the same people who walk lock step in line with a former professional wrestler and would vote for him.  Tey a reality TV personality would be barred in their minds.

She should have moved to the 14th LD.

Mercer GOP would have welcomed her with a petition, blindfold and cigarette!

housewifes of NJ

They should take this time wasting show off the air. The NJ housewife's are uneducated white trash. They should be embarrassed of their behavior. At least the NY housewife's speak English and have a purpose in life. These women, I wont even call them ladies, have no purpose other than talking about each other and how there going to kick each others ass and getting plastic surgery. DEPLORABLE!
