Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, on his way to becoming the pick of the New Jersey GOP establishment if he runs for President in 2012, will be in New Jersey next Thursday to headline a fundraiser for the New Jersey Republican State Committee. Romney came in the week before the primary to endorse Christopher Christie for Governor. State Sen. Joseph Kyrillos (R-Middletown), Christie's campaign chairman, was Romney's N.J. chairman in 2008.
New Jersey Republican leaders have a history of backing presidential candidates running for the second time: they went for John McCain in 2008 (and not in 2000), for Bob Dole in 1996 (and not in 1988), George H.W. Bush in 1988 (and not in 1980), and Ronald Reagan in 1980 (and not in 1976).

“We will work harder and smarter to protect consumers, to preserve civil rights, to effectively regulate the alcoholic beverage industry, to ensure that the integrity of New Jersey’s casino gaming industry continues, to keep drives, passengers and pedestrians safe on our streets, to assist victims of crimes, and to remember always the importance of juvenile justice on issues affecting the state." -- Attorney General-designate Paula Dow, at her Senate confirmation hearing.

Ah, Romney
Is there a more disingenuous, position-switching politician than Mitt Romney in modern political history? He did good work in Massachusetts on health care, but his social views took a decidedly backward, uber-conservative, cowtowing-to-the-far right vantage once he ran for president. Romney is so blinded by his (faux?) ideology that he rejects any embryonic stem cell funding.
Perhaps he and Christie can talk about the job losses and deleterious economic effects that would incur should N.J. reject federal stimulus funding, as both these GOP bureaucrats advocate.
Where is the fire?
They brought in a hoser.
Romney's full of Mitt
Enough said.
Snake Pliskin? I heard you were dead.
LOL
Romney is not against stem cell research. He just opposes embryonic stem cell research. Why do you have to insist on embryonic stem cells? Adult stem cells are proving more promising. I think your too far to the left! God forbid anyone opposes a liberal view. So much for dissension being patriotic. LOL!!!
