In Bergenfield, a victory for Weinberg
By Wally EdgeTwo Bergenfield Councilmen tossed off the organization line by Democratic Municipal Chairman Kevin Clancy easily won the Democratic primary. With the help of State Sen. Loretta Weinberg, Thomas Lodato and Robert Gillman held their seats against Clancy's candidates, Fedra Lolos and Fernando Vargas. Clancy was a close ally of former Bergen County Democratic Chairman Joseph Ferriero.
Todato and Gillman will face two Republicans who were nominated by write-in vote in Tuesday's primary: former Councilman George Williams, who voted against a local contract that went to Government Grants, the firm owned by Ferriero and Dennis Oury, and former Councilwoman Patricia Walsh.
