Word is Kasparian has the votes

Democrats from both factions in Bergen County suggest that developer Michael Kasparian has the votes to win election as County Chairman when the Bergen County Democratic Organization meets tomorrow night to pick a replacement for Joseph Ferriero.  Kasparian, reportedly Ferriero’s choice, faces labor leader Richard “Buzz” Dressel.  Dressel had dropped out of the race, but quickly returned. 

A move by some Democrats to convince Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Paul Sarlo to seek the chairmanship was unsuccessful.  Sarlo has declined to run.

...those who make their living from the BCDO pay-to-play machine. They are understandable unwilling to give up their privileged positions at the public money trough. Even indictments don't seem to be deterring these guys. Unless the voters wake up, the courts will have to do the heavy lifting. Let's hope President Obama has the will to reform government from the top down, because patronage cronies and no-bid government contractors aren't going to do it from the bottom up.
