McMorrow to be Monmouth Freeholder Director
By Wally EdgeMonmouth County Democrats won control of the Board of Freeholders one seat at a time, with Barbara McMorrow winning in 2006, John D’Amico in 2007, and Amy Mallet in 2008. That means Republicans can win back control next year if they can beat McMorrow.
McMorrow is expected to become Freeholder Director when the county reorganizes on January 6. Democrats have agreed to rotate the leadership posts, so D’Amico will be Director in 2009 if McMorrow wins a second term, and Mallet would be Director in 2010 if D’Amico wins re-election – or if Democrats can oust GOP incumbent Rob Clifton that year.
