U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie, who announced today that he will resign on December 1, is expected to go on the Republican rubber chicken circuit almost immediately. Republican insiders with ties to Christie's fledgling campaign for the 2009 Republican gubernatorial nomination say the outgoing federal prosecutor will begin attending Republican holiday parties in December, and will be interviewing campaign staff. Mr. Christie will find that
the long daggers of NJ politics are quite different than what he expected. And I'm not just thiking from the Democratic side of the aisle. He will find a few R's who would rather he went to private practice permanently. An dwill be feeding lots of devilish stories to the press. Success is a funny business.
