A private meeting among Bergen County Democrats debating the possible resignation of indicted County Chairman Joseph Ferriero had some tense moments and a few screaming matches. Here's one, relayed to PolitickerNJ.com from one insider present at the meeting:
U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman, to Bergen County Surrogate Michael Dressler: "F-ck you, f-ck you, f-ck you."
Dressler's response: "F-ck you too."
According to one person who was in the room, the argument between the two Democrats began when Dressler said that Rothman should have called Ferriero to let him know he was going to call for his resignation. That seems to have an opened an old wound: that Ferriero had reportedly pledged to back Rothman for a U.S. Senate seat down the road, and then wound up flirting with Rob Andrews during the 2008 Senate primary.
