New Jersey
Win or lose, we're going to make Obama and the dems spend a lot of time and resources in a state that is usually safe Democrat territory which will hurt Obama's ability to focus on swing states.
For all of the money Obama raises, he never seems to have a whole lot of cash on hand. The McCain campaign on the other hand, along with the fundraising efforts of the RNC, has a great deal of COH and spends it wisely and strategically.
Being able to raise money is one thing. Knowing how to make it work for you is a completely different story. If Obama is this bad with his own campaign funds, how bad is he going to be with our tax dollars?
No wonder he's running on a platform of change, that's all we'll be left with by the time he's through!

McCain/Palin conservative extremism can't win NJ
McCain's pandering performance at Saddleback Church and his selection of super far-right conservative extremist Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate will prove to be unacceptable to the electorate in New Jersey. New Jersey is out of reach for this Republican duo.
Palin's extreme anti-choice position on abortion will only serve to exacerbate the concerns of millions of women and men across the country who seek to preserve an individual woman's right to choose. Palin's Pentecostal roots and high profile history of publicly speaking out to deny women this right will prove problematic for the Republican ticket.
New Jerseyans are all too aware of the possibility that the next administration may face Supreme Court vacancies. It is apparent that a McCain/Palin administration will veer far to the right in selecting justices who are committed to overturning Roe v. Wade. Palin's addition to a McCain White House leaves almost no wiggle room for McCain on this matter. And such a discussion in this campaign will cost McCain the votes of pragmatically moderate and progressive people everywhere, especially in places like New Jersey and elsewhere.
New Jersey Republicans seem to be pinning their hopes on the anti-corruption reputation that Gov. Palin has commendably forged for herself in Alaska. The exposure of corruption within the circle of her own party's top ranking powerful insiders deserves applause and the gratitude of the people of Alaska. Her 80% approval rating among her constituents seems to indicate that she has earned that gratitude.
But this is all about to unravel on Alaska's gubernatorial neophyte. The glare of the national media has exposed a simmering scandal involving Palin's failed attempt to punish her ex-brother-in-law by using the power of her office to end his career as a state trooper. When the chief of the state police organization refused to fire the brother-in-law from his position as a state police officer he was summarily fired by Governor Sarah Palin. The person she appointed to take his place is now in hot water himself.
An investigative report into the matter is about to be released sometime in the fall, before election day. This will undermine Palin's entire anti-corruption story and will expose her as a hypocrite, at best, and a Governor who has misused the power of her office to settle personal scores (shades of Richard Nixon?).
None of this will be of any help to McCain and will severely damage Republican hopes of capturing anything resembling a victory in New Jersey.

Enough with the pandering comments
This ticket represents both spectrums of the Republican party and incorporates a tough anti-corruption reform Washington DC agenda that is not afraid to challenge it's own party.
Republican and Democrat pork-barrell spenders that love the good ol' boys network pissed themselves when this ticket came to form.
What about the Democrats ticket, the 1st and 3rd MOST liberal members of the US Senate according to a non-partisan study. Talk about pandering to the extreme base of a party.

I would be more than happy if you and your ilk decided to make this race about abortion and Roe v. Wade which nobody cares about.
The only thing more comical is the Obama people attacking her experience.
Your boy Obama sure is good at passing out fliers for town hall meetings, isn't he? Then, if something gets passed that he opposes, he can get his buddy Bill Ayres to blow the place to smitherines.

not attacking her experience
She's an anti-choice extremist who wants to teach creationism in public schools. I think that will be enough to lose NJ.
enoch
Again, if that's the issue you want your side to run on, I more than welcome it.

Palin choice ignores economic realities
By choosing Gov. Palin, McCain is signaling that the economic squeeze on the middle class is not his focus. Instead, the McCain team has decided to enhance his party's position on conservative social issues. That is the only way you can interpret Palin's presence on the ticket.
Obama-Biden will spend the next 64 days addressing solutions to the Bush/McCain economic albatross placed around the necks of middle class working families while McCain/Palin will run around with James Dobson groupies talking about the Supreme Court and the right-wing politics of reproduction.
Obama-Biden will talk about their middle class tax cuts just as McCain/Palin will talk about reversing Roe v. Wade.
Get it?

"By choosing Gov. Palin, McCain is signaling that the economic squeeze on the middle class is not his focus."
Quite the contrary. It is Obama's pick of a fellow Senator rather than an executive branch politician with experience in dealing with economic issues hands on that shows just how out of touch and unprepared he is to tackle economic issues.
That's why Obama should've picked Tim Kaine as his runningmate.
As far as Roe v. Wade goes, it's your side, primarily the National Organization for (Ugly) Women that is trying to make it an issue.
Your side brought it up, not us.

Palin is a true wildcard.
Governor Palin on the surface seemed to be a interesting choice.
But as you you scratch the surface, she's really in over her head.
If McCain wanted a woman, he could have picked Kay Bailey Hutchinson or some other woman with far better credentials.
Let's face it, being governor of Alaska administratively is the equivalent of being county executive of Hudson, Bergen or Essex counties. There are more people in these counties than all of Alaska.
Secondly, the fact she has a 17-year old that's pregnant and another child with Down's syndrome seems to suggest plenty on her plate as mother, to say nothing of being vice-president.
This is a strange choice. Can any reasonable person really believe she's ready to be president?
This choice has Dan Quayle and Spiro Agnew written all over it...
She makes Geraldine Ferraro look competent. McCain seems more like Walter Mondale in this choice than Ronald Reagan picking George Bush.
Any reasonable Republican will agree that the choice is out-of-the-box. It's so out-of-the-box you really have question McCain's judgment.
Vote Column A - All the way!
John Ashcroft should run.
How old is the young man who got Palin's daughter pregnant?
Neophytes and Patriots
Tardy Mulloy you sould read your history. Lincoln the saviour of our Republic was himself an academic neophyte. The American Public in the heartland , the folks that make our Republic tick have a great nose for Bovine excrement producers. ( Obama / Biden). They sniffed out Kerry / Edwards et al and they will do the same in November.

"How old is the young man who got Palin's daughter pregnant?"
What business is that of yours and what do you care?
I sincerely hope the Obama people are stupid enough to try and attack Sarah Palin on that.

are really disgusting and show what trash the hard left NJ Democrats are.
peterendina's comments...
are indicative of the level of intrusiveness Sarah Palin would have of the federal government in the lives of all Americans should she be elected VP... hey, I think it's great that the GOP is finally enthused enough to actually go to the polls on Nov. 4th and vote since McCain himself wasn't energizing the base to begin with... all in all, she's every bit the silver shirt fascist like McCain except she espouses her right-wing nonsense wearing a skirt...
Insiders may attack her
But to everyone else, she's a Superstar. And that feeling will only increase as time goes on.
It may seem strange to some people reading this, but not everyone thinks that abortion is the solution to all of life's problems.
Strange as it seems, there are a number of people reading this who think Palin's daughter should abort her child -- even now five months along. To them, pro-Lifers don't understand the "need" for abortion.
The Pro-Life issue is such a winner now that even Lautenberg won't touch this one, let alone Obama and Biden.
