Filling legislative vacancies
By Wally EdgeAfter a legislator resigns, the political party that controls the seat will call a special election convention to fill the vacancy within 7 to 35 days of the resignation. Both political parties will need to hold a special convention to select candidates to run in a November 2008 special election to fill the remainder of the term.
