Over the last seven years, New Jersey has had a few classic days – the kind politicos remember for the rest of their lives: Don DiFrancesco’s withdrawal from the race for Governor; Bob Janiszewski’s resignation as Hudson County Executive; the FBI raid that ended Jim Treffinger’s U.S. Senate bid; Bob Torricelli’s withdrawal from the U.S. Senate race; James E. McGreevey’s announcement that he was resigning as Governor; and the indictments, arrests and resignations of numerous state legislators.
There’s a chance that another one of those days could be on the horizon. There is considerable speculation that a sitting legislator from Union County may resign as early as tomorrow amidst a major scandal.
Stay tuned.
