Obama to pick Mueller to run N.J. campaign
By Wally EdgeBarack Obama's presidential campaign is expected to announce today that Tricia Mueller, the national political director of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, will serve as New Jersey state director.
Mueller, who had the backing of Gov. Jon Corzine - a supporter of Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries - beat out Bob Decheine, the Chief of Staff to one of Obama's earliest and leading New Jersey supporters, Rep. Steve Rothman.
The 34-year-old Mueller was political director of the New Jersey Regional Carpenters Council for seven years before being promoted to national political director of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters last year.

Despite the denial, PolitickerNJ.com strongly stands by our original report. A decision has been made, and the Obama campaign notified several top Democratic officials of Mueller’s appointment on Thursday.
