Another failure for Governor Jon Corzine’s embattled appointments office: the Senate Judiciary Committee has postponed consideration of Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Anderson’s nomination as Medicaid Inspector General. Corzine didn’t have the votes to get Anderson through the Democratic-controlled committee amidst residency issues (Anderson lives in Pennsylvania) and questions about his qualifications.
Anderson's nomination was scheduled for a vote by the Judiciary Committee today. Another Corzine nomination on the agenda, Thomas Dowd as the Atlantic County Executive Superintendent of Schools, was also pulled for lack of support.

what's wrong with Hendrickson?
The residency issue is an issue. But I believe that in Corzine's press release, it was stated that Hendrickson would soon be moving to NJ. That should have settled that one.
As to his qualifications, he did white collar investigations for the US Atty's office. What more does the judiciary committee want?
I'd like to see the judiciary committee actually publicly state their reasoning once in a while, instead of hide behind procedure.
