Will Bennett replace Puharic?

Monmouth County Republican Chairman Adam Puharic is expected to resign his party post soon, according to GOP leaders who were on a conference call with him on Monday afternoon. That will trigger a special election to elect a new County Chairman. Former Senate President John Bennett, who was defeated for re-election in 2003 amidst allegations that his law firm overbilled clients, including the Township of Marlboro, is a potential candidate for the post.

Former Sheriff Joseph Oxley, now a partner at the politically powerful Scarinci & Hollenbeck law firm, and former New Jersey Republican State Committee Executive Director Brian Nelson are also possible candidates for County Chairman.

No more Back to the USSR Chairmen, please!

Let's come clean with the past and elect forward looking leaders. Especially, leaders who are honest and democratic.

Oh! Goody!

That two-bit, self-important blowhard will all but guarantee a Democratic Party takeover of yet another "GOP Stronghold" in New Jersey.

Gerri Popkin would be a better choice...anybody who knows either of these two would get the joke.

silly

John Bennett is not a candidate for chairman...but hey, it sure does make for good copy by throwing his name out there. Truth, shmuth, right? Now if you had said Joe Oxley....

Bennett and the Monmouth

Bennett and the Monmouth GOP- Perfect together. Bennettis a perfect poster boy for the corrupt Monmouth GOP.
Oxley would not be bad either. He works for the pay to play boss Menendez firm.
Of the choices mentioned only Nelson would be any good.
