Frank Lautenberg leads Rob Andrews 57%-22% among likely Democratic primary voters, according to Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee poll that was in the field last night. These numbers represent the first night of a two-night survey.
Lautenberg has a 71%-16 favorable rating among Democrats, while Andrews is at 27%-6%. 56% of Democratic primary voters have never heard of Andrews, a ten-term Congressman from Camden County.
Andrews said on Monday that he was considering a challenge to Lautenberg, a four-term incumbent, in the June 3 Democratic primary.
The survey was conducted by Joel Benenson.
