Buzz: Andrews to get key North Jersey endorsements

There is considerable speculation among Democrats that Rob Andrews is about to secure some major endorsements for his U.S. Senate bid against Frank Lautenberg – possibly including State Senators Raymond Lesniak (D-Union) and Brian Stack (D-Hudson), and Bergen County Democratic Chairman Joseph FerrieroUpdate: Ferriero is faving tremendous pressure to back Lautenberg.

Lesniak, one of the state’s most powerful insiders, is the de facto head of the Union County Democratic Party, while Stack, who won 75% of the vote in his State Senate primary last year, has considerable clout in Northern Hudson County. Lautenberg lives in Bergen County.

Key.

Let the games begin. There is nothing better than a regional fight for a spot on the ticket. Three endorsements are not going to get it done. See you in the trenches.

Andrews & Lesniak - Perfect Together!

Interesting Times

He'll need as much as he can get.

With Menendez on the Lautenberg bandwagon, I don't think Andrews can get Hudson (they probably don't want Civil War Part II).  Though if he ran on a line with a Stack-led faction, that would be interesting.

I'm a bit surprised to hear that Bergen and Union are in play.  Not sure what Ferriero and Lesniak stand to gain from a primary battle.

Essex is another guessing game.  Andrews (briefly) had the line in Essex in '97.  Rep. Payne was on stage yesterday, but was Cory Booker and Steve Adubato there?  If they're both with Andrews, Lautenberg would lose that county too.

Ask yourself one question....

Might today's date have anything to do with this "buzz"?

Civil War it is

Hudson County is already in Civil War pt 2 and most likely pt 3.

It is said that State Sen. Stack has a line of Freeholders ready to run in Hudson County againist the Democratic Machine, HCDO. He most likely won't run a House of Rep. candidate cause Albio Sires and him are "friends". Doesn't stop him from endorsing Andrews though, he'll do ANYTHING to piss the HCDO off.

If Stack endorses Andrews, then Andrews WILL win all of North Hudson county.

As for Civil War pt 3, so far Stack plans on going againist the HCDO by endorsing candidates under his Democrats For Hudson County (DFHC) line during the municipal elections.
