Munoz: Ethics Reform Important to LatinosMountainside, N.J. - Statement by Assemblyman Dr. Eric Munoz in response to Bob Menendez opening remarks to kick-off the 2006 Latino Leaders Luncheon Series today in Washington, D.C.
“The Hispanic community is a group of honest, intelligent and hard working people who want to live the American dream and choose leaders who will fight for lower taxes, a better economy and ethics in government. Mr. Menendez does not represent these values – and the Hispanic community will not blindly follow a leader based solely on ethnicity.
There is a clear choice in this election for New Jersey voters. Do they want a career party boss or a person who truly idealizes public service, honesty and inclusion? I want to see Tom Kean Jr. elected because the people of New Jersey deserve better.�

Let me get this straight ... Kean Jr. worked for Rep. Bob Franks for a few years in his 20s, then ran for Congress in his 20s and lost, then was appointed to the State Assembly, then was appointed to the State Senate and now at 35 or 36 is running for the United States Senate.

Are you telling me that he is not a career politician? I mean, his father and grandfather were politicians! That's not just one career, that's a whole bunch of them.

Oh, yeah. One more thing. If you are so sure that the Latino community isn't going to vote based on ethnicity, why does the Kean Jr. campaign have to use a guy named Munoz to deliver the message? Why not someone named Wilson? Or Ferguson? Or Jackson? Or Talerico?
