GREENWALD: WE WILL NOT REPEAT LAST MINUTE REPUBLICAN FEEDING FRENZY
(TRENTON) – Assembly Budget Chairman Lou Greenwald released the following statement today:
“I am heartened by Gov. Corzine’s move to find $400 million in budget savings and by the insistence by the Governor and Speaker Roberts that the Legislature not pass bills during the upcoming post-election session that would result in added spending.
“Post-election sessions are a time to tackle unfinished business, and under Speaker Roberts these sessions have been very moderate and measured.
“One thing we won’t do is repeat what happened in 2001, when Republicans went on a wild and chaotic feeding frenzy and at the last minute irresponsibly spent hundreds of millions of dollars we didn’t have as a recession loomed.
“Unlike that session, our work will responsibly focus on our unfinished business for the good of hard-working New Jerseyans.
“The Assembly Democratic Majority will continue to work tirelessly to make New Jersey more affordable, create jobs and boost our economy. We will not repeat the Republican mistakes of the past.”

Nice grandstanding. doas I say, not as I do...
I suppose Greenwald is referring to the massive pension giveaways that he voted for in 2001? The courage-to-spend Budget Chairman who had his hand in slush funds and doled out money to clients of his employer passed borrowing for operating, jacked up budgets, voting for 115 tax increases, and is calling for restraint. That great... just great.
Translation: You ain't seen nothin' yet!
The democrat feeding frenzy will look entirely like nothing ever seen in this state before. Their Bacchanalia will make 2001 look like a Motel 6 complimentary breakfast of instant coffee and stale danish.
Who cares what Lou says?
The Democratic legislators will become totally irrelevant in January. Governor Christie will be able to veto everything that lands on his desk, and the Democrats won't have the votes to override the veto. In other words, the legislative Democrats will have zero accomplishments over at least the next two years.
