DeANGELO & GREENSTEIN PRAISE HORIZON-CAPITAL HEALTH SETTLEMENT
(14th LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT) – Assemblywoman Linda R. Greenstein and Assemblyman Wayne P. DeAngelo today praised Gov. Jon S. Corzine’s announcement that Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and Capital Health System have ended their insurance dispute.
The agreement will allow Horizon customers to continue to utilize the Fuld and Mercer Campus hospitals in Trenton:
“This is great news for Mercer County residents and I thank Gov. Corzine and Public Advocate Ronald Chen for brokering this settlement,” said Greenstein (D-Middlesex/Mercer). “This dispute did nothing more than threaten the well-being of Mercer County residents and limit their health care options. Let’s hope cooler heads prevail and we can avoid future disagreements that risk the health of my constituents.”
“Gov. Corzine did the right thing by bringing both sides together and I’m pleased to see this settlement has been reached,” said DeAngelo (D-Mercer/Middlesex). “Mercer County’s hard-working families deserve better than to be put in the middle of such disputes and it was long past time for a settlemen. I now expect both sides to work together cooperatively to ensure this never happens again.”
