CRYAN & QUIJANO HAIL CORZINE ADMINISTRATION FOR COMPLETING NEW PARKWAY/I-78 LINK
(UNION COUNTY) – Assemblyman Joseph Cryan and Assemblywoman Annette Quijano (both D-Union) on Thursday praised Gov. Jon S. Corzine’s administration for finally completing the long-awaited connection between the Garden State Parkway northbound and Interstate 78 westbound.
“It took four decades, but Gov. Corzine is the one who finally got this done,” Cryan said. “This will ease the daily commutes of tens of thousands of area drivers, and that’s great in and of itself, but it was also built on time and created 400 new jobs amid a global economic crisis. Everyone wins and the Governor and his administration deserve great credit for getting this done.”
“This long overdue project is more than welcomed by area commuters, local residents and hard-working New Jerseyans who benefited from its construction,” Quijano said. “And this is just the start. Thanks to the Governor’s plan to invest in our infrastructure, we will see even more improvements to our roadways and bridges in the years ahead, sparking economic development, creating jobs and improving the road system that is the lifeblood of our state.”
