GUSCIORA: CORZINE PLAN ‘ANOTHER CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE’ WAY TO GET PEOPLE BACK TO WORK
(TRENTON) – Assemblyman Commerce and Economic Development Chairman Reed Gusciora (D-Mercer) released the following statement Tuesday on Gov. Jon S. Corzine’s plan to encourage businesses to hire New Jerseyans who have exhausted unemployment benefits:
“With so many having already exhausted their unemployment benefits, the last thing we could do was stand idle, so I’m so pleased Gov. Corzine has come up with yet another creative and innovative way to get people back to work and help businesses thrive.
“Time and time again Gov. Corzine and Democrats have been ahead of the curve in fighting this global economic recession, and programs like this that help businesses and out-of-work New Jerseyans alike are why we will lead the pack in the looming economic recovery.
“I look forward to this new program joining our wide-ranging array of economic development and job creation initiatives that under Gov. Corzine's leadership have positioned New Jersey’s businesses and workers to prosper.
“This global crisis has been a challenging time for businesses and their workers but Gov. Corzine and New Jersey Democrats are on their side and doing everything we can to protect and create jobs.”
