VAS TO APPEAR ON MY9 TO TOUT ANTI-FORECLOSURE, PRO-BUSINESS EFFORTS

(PERTH AMBOY) - Assemblyman Joseph Vas will appear Sunday on My9 WWOR-TV’s “New Jersey Now” to discuss New Jersey’s efforts to keep people in their homes and help New Jersey businesses emerge stronger from the global economic crisis.

The program is scheduled to air Sunday at noon.

Vas is expected to discuss legislation passed by the Assembly to combat home foreclosures and promote New Jersey businesses.

The Assembly has passed more than 40 bills in recent weeks to help residents and businesses emerge stronger from the global meltdown.

One bill, (A-3294) would create the “Invest in New Jersey Business Grant Program” program to help small and mid-size businesses by providing grants of $3,000 for each new job created.

Another (A-3459) would appropriate $12.5 million for a foreclosure mediation program and to enhance mortgage counseling services, and allocate $51 million in federal money the state will be receiving for housing assistance.
