John Adler (D-Camden), continued to lash out at Myers’s fundraising connections.

Standing with fifth generation cranberry farmers Joe Darlington and wife, Brenda Conner, on their Pemberton property today, Myers said, "Small business owners have always been the engine that makes the American economy go and will be on the forefront of helping to lead us out of this current economic crisis."

"Thanks to career Trenton politician John Adler, small business owners in New Jersey are consistently being barraged with higher taxes and excessive regulation that kill job creation and hurt middle class families struggling to make ends meet," Myers said.

NFIB promotes and protects the right of its members to own, operate and grow their businesses, according to its website.

Myers' Independence: It's All a Facade

Laurel, NJ) - While President Bush is pushing a $700 billion-dollar bailout of Wall Street on the backs of the American taxpayers, Chris Myers will be raking in campaign money tonight from Bush fund-raisers and associates connected to Big Oil.  That makes it twice this week that Myers has accepted large bundles of cash handouts from his political puppeteer, George W. Bush, and the president's corporate cronies.

TRENTON - Wall Street is melting down while President George W. Bush fundraises in Colts Neck for candidates who will continue his failed policies, argued Democrats at a Statehouse press conference this afternoon.

State Democratic Chairman Joseph Cryan stood with congressional candidates, Assemblywoman Linda Stender (D-Fanwood) and professor Joshua Zeitz of Bordentown. They all whiplashed Republicans for allowing Bush to come and raise money in a state where the latest Strategic Vision poll shows the president with a 20 percent job approval rating.

Myers embraces Bush amid greatest economic turmoil since the Great Depression

Myers Welcomes "Modern-Day Herbert Hoover" Into District,
Accepts Campaign Cash From President Who Allowed Economy to Spin Out of Control, Forcing Taxpayers To Clean Up The Mess

Mt. Laurel, NJ – Democratic congressional candidate John Adler said today that President Bush's trip to New Jersey today to raise money for Mayor Chris Myers is an affront to the district's residents and Myers embraces Bush amid greatest economic turmoil since the Great Depressionshows that Myers is hopelessly out of touch with their fears and concerns. Adler said that welcoming Bush into New Jersey with open arms - as the nation sits in the very eye of an economic hurricane - shows a blatant insensitivity to the voters by Myers and exposes where his true sympathies lie: with George W. Bush and the corporate elite who triggered this crisis, not the middle-class taxpayers who will be forced to pay for it.

Campaign staffers for Republican congressional candidates Leonard Lance and Chris Myers say they expect President Bush to show up for their joint fundraiser Monday, even though he's canceled fundraising appearances in Florida and Alabama to deal with the economic crisis.

Meanwhile, Democrats across the state are putting together a game plan, intent on not letting the unpopular president's private appearance go unnoticed by New Jerseyans.

A poll released today by Strategic Vision put Bush's New Jersey approval rating at 20 percent.
