Last Thursday, Lisa Jackson, Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the appointment of my successor as Regional Administrator of Region 2 EPA, Judith Enck, who had been serving as Deputy Secretary of the Environment under New York Governors Eliot Spitzer and David Patterson.  Simultaneously, Lisa also announced the appointment of other Regional Administrators in Regions 1, 3, 6, and 9.

Despite not knowing all the facts and not witnessing the situation, President Obama regrettably weighed in with his opinion to defend his "friend" Prof. Harry Louis Gates Jr. Apparently, his friendship was enough to blame the Cambridge police officers for making the arrest.

Senator Joe Pennacchio is counting down the days until Governor Corzine actually keeps his promise of transparency in the spending of $17 billion in federal stimulus aid. Is this aid going to generate the maximum amount of jobs for New Jersey, or is it being used as an election-year goody bag for the governor's supporters? It's impossible to know if the governor won't keep create a Web site that shows where the $17 billion is really going. 

The legendary sports journalist, Jimmy Cannon of the now defunct New York Journal-American said of Howard Cosell: “His real name is Howard Cohen, he wears a toupee, and he claims to tell it like it is.”

Of Leonard Lance, it may similarly be said:  He voted as a state Senator to reappoint Deborah Poritz as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, he voted as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for the Democrat cap-and-trade proposal on greenhouse gases, and he claims to be a mainstream Republican.

Congress is debating President Obama's $825 billion stimulus package to generate millions of jobs, fix the nation's crumbling infrastructure, make buildings more energy efficient, provide aid to states and cities, halt global warming, and in the final analysis create a Kingdom of God on earth.

However, Team Obama, comprised of some of the greatest minds in economics and finance, has failed to propose the ultimate fiscal stimulus package that would create very good paying jobs and pump billions into the inner cities and rural America, boost the auto industry and dozens of other retail sectors, and do so immediately without the lag time of conventional government spending.
