New Jerseyan William Dudley is the new President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York

Cranford resident William Dudley will succeed newly-confirmed Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner as President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.  Prior to entering government as the Executive Vice President of the Markets Group at the Federal Reserve, Dudley worked for now-Governor Jon Corzine as Chief Economist at Goldman, Sachs & Company.

His wife, Anne Darby, is a former Deputy Mayor of Cranford.  A Republican, she served on the Township Committee from 2003 to 2005.

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Dudley contributed to Democratic candidates, including the presidential campaigns of Al Gore, John Edwards and John Kerry, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (while Corzine was DSCC Chairman), and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT).
