ROBERTS STATEMENT ON CORZINE TTF PLAN

(TRENTON) -- Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts Jr. today issued the following statement on Governor Jon Corzine's proposed Transportation Trust Fund plan:

"Governor Corzine knows the inner-workings of the money markets and Wall Street better than any previous New Jersey Governor.
"I look forward to thoroughly reviewing Governor Corzine's plan, which includes several positive reforms.
"This plan may give lawmakers additional time to craft long-term solutions for our transportation funding system without placing short-term capital projects at risk.
"Whatever final actions we take with respect to the Transportation Trust Fund, there must be reforms and greater transparency.
"Assembly Democrats will discuss this proposal as a caucus so we can provide the best transportation system possible for our residents."
