           (Atlantic County, NJ) When Assemblyman Jim Whelan was mayor of Atlantic City, his Administration awarded more than $400,000 in no-bid contracts to the Camden law firm of State Sen. Wayne Bryant, “a plausible explanation for why Whelan has failed to call for the indicted Sen. Bryant to resign from the Senate,” the Atlantic County Republican legislative team said today.

James “Sonny” McCullough today described as “deceitful and hypocritical” the demand by his opponent, Assemblyman Jim Whelan, that the public officials arrested yesterday forfeit their pensions upon conviction since Whelan voted to preserve pension rights for corrupt public officials under certain circumstances.

McCullough, Amodeo, Polistina: Democrats Fail on Fair School Funding

The Republican legislative candidates from Atlantic County said today that “the utter failure of the Democrat Administration and Legislature to develop a new, fair and equitable formula for state aid to education means that property taxpayers will continue to suffer under the current punishing system.”

Atlantic County’s Republican legislative candidates today sharply criticized the Democrat Administration and Legislature for “their total failure to provide stable, long term property tax relief while continuing to run up record debt and spending.”

The need to assure the safety of bridges throughout New Jersey and the estimate of the cost of doing so “gives added urgency” to the recommendation by Atlantic County’s Republican legislative candidates that the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority direct a greater share of its revenues to infrastructure projects in the county with special attention paid to bridges and overpasses.
