Jersey City councilman makes it rain in Washington

Hopefully Jersey City Councilman Steve Lipski treats his constituents better than he treats Washington, DC concert goers.

Lipski was arrested Friday night at a Washington nightclub after he allegedly urinated on a crowd during a concert by a Grateful Dead tribute band, the Daily News reports.

Apparently, this wasn’t the first run-in Lipski has had with the 9:30 Club's staff, who described Lispki to the paper as never having peed on anyone before Friday, but of typically being “really belligerent and drunk.”

Lipski, who ran for mayor in 2004, is also the Executive Director/School Administrator/CEO of CREATE Charter School.

Speculation that Cunningham and Manzo will join forces in Jersey City '09

Sources familiar with Jersey City politics say that an interesting alliance is in the works: if Sandra Cunningham runs for Mayor in 2009, then Louis Manzo  will drop his plan to run for Mayor and support her – with the implied promise that she would support him for her State Senate seat.  And if City Councilman Steven Fulop joins the Cunningham camp – instead of running for Mayor – he would be rewarded with Cunningham’s endorsement for the Democratic nomination for Congress against Albio Sires in the 2010 primary.   Manzo, sources say, has not ruled out a bid for Councilman-At-Large on the Cunningham ticket, although he could not serve as Councilman and Senator at the same time.
