GOVERNOR CORZINE UNVEILS $74 MILLION
PEDESTRIAN SAFETY INITIATIVE

NEWARK

- Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced the creation of a five-year, $74 million initiative to improve pedestrian safety throughout New Jersey. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), the Department of Law and Public Safety and the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) will implement a three-pronged strategy to encourage motorists to safely share the road with pedestrians through engineering, education and enforcement.
