Whitman raises $430k

Kate Whitman has raised over $430,000 for her campaign for the GOP nomination for Congress in the 7th district, with over $230,000 during the last three months.  Her chief rival, State Sen. Leonard Lance, has not released any details of his fundraising.

Senate candidate Joe Pennacchio won the Somerset County Republican convention tonight.

Pennacchio won the county line with 247 votes to rival Andy Unanue’s 51.

Murray Sabrin, who refused to drop his plan to run alternate slates of freeholder candidates, was not allowed to participate.

Stender endorses Lautenberg

Assemblywoman Linda Stender has endorsed Frank Lautenberg for U.S. Senate, and says she will “proudly run on the same Democratic primary ballot line as him” in her bid for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th district.

“Frank Lautenberg is New Jersey’s Senator and one of our strongest voices in Washington,” sid Stender, who came within 1% of unseating an incumbent GOP Congressman in 2006. “His continued success in delivering for New Jersey is critical as we work to move away from the failed policies of the Bush Republicans.”
