(VINELAND, October 11) - First District Senator Nick Asselta and his Assembly running mates Norris Clark and Michael Donohue today called on their opponents to explain why a political campaign mailer, featuring candidate Matt Milam (who is not currently a member of the legislature), directed responses to their taxpayer funded district office.

(VINELAND, October 8) -- First District Republican Assembly candidates Norris Clark and Michael Donohue -- responding to comments by Democratic Assemblyman Nelson Albano and his running mate Matt Milam in Saturday’s Press of Atlantic City, in which Albano and Milam denied responsibility for false and misleading charges made in campaign advertising against Clark and Donohue, saying that they haven’t seen or approved advertising produced by the New Jersey Democratic State Committee on their behalf -- today said that if their Democratic opponents are letting the party bosses control them in this campaign, there is no question who will be controlling their votes in Trenton.

The first district Republicans have seized on a new report from a Wall Street lawyer that says monetization could increase tolls by 150 percent.

The analysis by New York-based attorney Peter Humphreys, reported by the Associated Press this morning, said that issuing bonds to bring about a cash infusion would increase tolls in the long run. Although the details of the plan have not been made public by Gov. Corzine, Humphreys said that the average commuter on the Turnpike could wind up paying $2,400 a year in tolls.
