Is Joseph Kyrillos the smartest legislator?
Senator Joseph Kyrillos (R-Monmouth), 48, works for GVA Williams, a commercial real estate firm.  A graduate of Hobart College, he received a master’s degree from Boston University.   Kyrillos worked for the Reagan administration at the U.S. Department of the Interior before winning a State Assembly seat in 1987.  He was elected to the Senate in 1991 for a seat that became open when the Democratic incumbent resigned after the primary.  Kyrillos was the GOP State Chairman from 2001 to 2004.

Senate GOP panel tells Lance to make staff changes

Senate Minority Leader Leonard Lance has not yet acted on a recommendation from fellow Senators to replace John Samerjan as Executive Director of the Senate Republican Office. A subcommittee formed last November to review possible staff changes submitted their report to Lance last Spring. Lance had named Diane Allen, Gerald Cardinale, Peter Inverso and Joseph Kyrillos to the panel last November as part of an agreement with colleagues who supported his re-election against a challenge from Morris County Republican Anthony Bucco.

Following a PoliticsNJ.com report, Senate Republican staffer Michelle Peal has reportedly declined a request that she change her party registration from Democrat to Republican.
