DeCroce wonders why Corzine is in Florida

Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce slammed Gov. Jon Corzine for being in Florida as New Jerseyans "brace for job losses"Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce slammed Gov. Jon Corzine for being in Florida as New Jerseyans "brace for job losses"
Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce lashed out at Gov. Corzine today for stumping for Barack Obama in Florida while New Jerseyans deal with the impact of the economic downturn and brace for job losses on Wall Street.

“The economic shock waves from Wall Street continue to hit New Jersey residents. At such a time, I think it is outrageous that Corzine seems more concerned about stumping for Obama than staying home and trying to assure anxious New Jersey residents who are losing money and jobs that the state is working on a plan to ease their pain,” he said in a press release today. “But, then again, maybe Corzine is flying to Florida because he has no strategy to put money in the pockets of people. After-all, the governor has admitted his most immediate priority is to take more money out by raising tolls.”

According to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Corzine is in the Sunshine State this morning to speak at a Miami-Dade College event called “Are the Fundamentals of Your Economy Strong?”

Quinnipiac poll: Obama has razor-thin lead in N.J.; McCain trails by just 3 points

The contest between Barack Obama and John McCain in New Jersey is too close to call, with a new Quinnipiac University poll showing the battle for the state's fifteen electoral votes at 48%-45% among likely voters.  Obama led McCain by ten percentage points, 51%-41% in an August Quinnipiac poll.

This is the fourth independent poll within the last week to show New Jersey as an emerging battleground state in the presidential campaign.  A Monmouth University/New Jersey poll released this morning shows Obama leading by 8 points, and a Marist College poll released Friday night had identical numbers to Quinnipiac, 48%-45%. A Fairleigh Dickinson University poll from last week had Obama up by six points.

“The McCain-Palin ticket has narrowed the gap dramatically, but it will take more than this post convention bounce for the Republicans to win in true blue New Jersey.  The upcoming debates probably will provide a clue to whether Sen. McCain can build on his current momentum, or whether the tide will turn back to the Democrats,” said Clay F. Richards, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

Obama leads McCain by 8 points in new Monmouth University/Gannett poll

Barack Obama leads John McCain in New Jersey by eight percentage points, 49%-41%, according to a new Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey poll released today.

“McCain has made some gains in New Jersey, which should not really be a surprise to anyone who has followed election polling in this state,” said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute.  “Republican candidates often see some positive movement in September polling, but have had problems maintaining that momentum.  Only once in the past ten years – the 2000 U.S. Senate race – has the Republican candidate continued to narrow the gap through election day.  We’ll have to wait and see if this is really a trend.”

Quinnipiac will release new N.J. poll tomorrow

Quinnipiac University will release the results on a new poll pitting Barack Obama and John McCain in a contest for New Jersey's fifteen electoral votes.  The last Quinnipiac poll, on August 15, had Obama leading McCain by ten percentage points, 51%-41%.  Since then, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Marist College have released polls showing a tightening of the race.  FDU had Obama up by six, and Marist has Obama leading by three.

A billion monkeys

They say that if you put a billion monkeys in front of a billion typewriters for a billion years, one of them will write a Shakespearean play. Or maybe throw feces at each other -- but then they'd look like a political campaign.

So, searching the web for the answer to the question: "What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney?" I found at least a billion sites that gave the same answer: Lipstick. LOL.

So, now that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has officially been anointed as Republican VP candidate Palin, it's time to figure out the actual differences between Palin and the current vice president.
