GOVERNOR CORZINE TOUTS SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH AND EXPANSION

Visits two South Jersey firms assisted through innovative state assistance programs TRENTON – While touring two southern New Jersey small businesses, Governor Jon S. Corzine today applauded their efforts to expand operations and grow jobs in the Garden State. Severino Pasta Manufacturing Company in Westmont and Moorestown-based EMS Formation, both of which recently expanded, received assistance from the State through innovative programs that allow businesses to access capital by providing state support for bank lending through loan participations and guarantees.

GOVERNOR CORZINE SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 150

TRENTON – Governor Jon S. Corzine today signed an Executive Order that establishes a more formal framework for exercise of the New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zones Act, P.L. 1983, c.303, as amended (the “UEZ Act”), which provides for the deposit of certain Sales and Use Tax revenues in the UEZ assistance fund (the “UEZ Fund”); for the purpose of assisting qualifying municipalities in which UEZs are designated in undertaking public improvements, economic development projects, and in upgrading eligible municipal services within designated UEZs.

TRENTON - Governor Jon S. Corzine today welcomed the opening of the new Home Depot in Brick and the more than 180 jobs it will bring for local residents.  The store is one of only five Home Depot stores being launched nationwide in 2009.

GOVERNOR CORZINE MARKS COMPLETION OF ROUTE 18 RECONSTRUCTION$200 million project enhances economic revitalization of New Brunswick area NEW BRUNSWICK – Praising the project for enhancing economic revitalization, creating jobs and improving commercial opportunities for business, Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced the completion of the Route 18 reconstruction. Over 600 jobs were created and supported throughout the $200 million project.

Corzine today signed legislation allowing voters to decide if bonds should be issued for the purpose of preserving farmland and conserving open spaces for recreation and conservation purposes. 

GOVERNOR CORZINE APPOINTS FORMER CRIMINAL PROSECUTOR AND SCI COMMISSIONER TO THE WATERFRONT AND AIRPORT COMMISSION
OF NEW YORK & NEW JERSEY

TRENTON – Governor Jon S. Corzine today appointed Barry H. Evenchick to the Waterfront and Airport Commission of New York and New Jersey. The Legislature established the Waterfront Commission for the purpose of regulating waterfront labor and the handling of waterborne freight within the port district. Formal nomination to this commission requires advice and consent of the New Jersey Senate and can only be made while the Senate is in session.

GOVERNOR CORZINE TOURS ROSELLE RESTAURANT TO CELEBRATE EXPANSION MADE POSSIBLE WITH NEW JERSEY’S ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE AND RECOVERY PLAN TO AID BUSINESSES ROSELLE – Governor Jon S. Corzine today joined state and local officials to tour the recently expanded Cavalier Restaurant-Banquet on Wood Avenue in Roselle Borough. Construction for the addition of two social event rooms at Cavalier was funded under the Main Street Business Assistance Program, which enables qualified small and mid-size businesses and nonprofit organizations in New Jersey to access capital by providing state support for bank lending through loan participations and credit enhancements.
