(TRENTON) - The Assembly today gave final legislative approval to a portion of a sweeping "Fighting Gangs, Protecting Our Youth" legislative initiative Assembly Majority Leader Bonnie Watson Coleman championed to provide municipalities, schools, and law enforcement authorities with new tools to combat the growing menace of street gangs in New Jersey.

            TRENTON –  Senator Shirley K. Turner today urged the City of Trenton to request that State troopers begin patrolling the streets of the capital city to combat gang violence while additional city police officers are hired, trained and assigned to duty.

RICE TO RECONVENE GANGLAND SECURITY TASK FORCE

TRENTON - In response to escalating gang violence in Newark, where four children were shot, execution-style, last week, Senator Ronald L. Rice announced today that he would be reconvening the Gangland Security Task Force, to provide necessary intelligence to deal with New Jersey's growing gang problem.
