12th District Republican legislative candidates Assemblywoman Jennifer Beck, Declan O’Scanlon and Caroline Casagrande today criticized Mike Panter for admitting in a recent news release that this year’s fortuitously timed tax rebate checks were unsustainable past this year, after twice calling them sustainable in an impassioned plea for the bill which enacted the cuts on January 29th 2007.

12th District Republican Legislative candidates Jennifer Beck, Declan O’Scanlon and Caroline Casagrande expressed amazement today at the claim of Assemblyman Mike Panter that he and his running mate, Ellen Karcher “have opposed every tax increase”, saying the Democrat incumbents have supported numerous tax increases, and voted for pork laden budgets which increased spending and brought little state aid home to 12th District schools, causing property taxes to rise.

12th District Republican Legislative candidates Jennifer Beck, Declan O’Scanlon and Caroline Casagrande today called on Senate President Richard Codey to demand the resignations of indicted Senators Sharpe James and Wayne Bryant, saying their presence in office while under indictment for corruption called into question the Trenton Democrats supposed commitment to ethics reform.

12th District Republican Legislative candidates Assemblywoman Jennifer Beck, Declan O’Scanlon and Caroline Casagrande again today called on their opponents to join their call for the Legislature to convene in a special session to address pending ethics legislation, in light of last weeks arrest of two sitting Assemblymen and the news that State Senator Joseph Coniglio, who is under criminal federal investigation, had dropped  his bid for re-election.

12th District Assembly candidates Declan O’Scanlon and Caroline Casagrande, along with several grandfathers from the 12th District, celebrated Grandfathers Day on Friday with an event designed to point out the absurdity of an ethics bill sponsored by Ellen Karcher and Mike Panter, and pointed to it as a prime example of how the two have failed to take on the culture of corruption in Trenton. 

12th District Republican candidates Jennifer Beck, Declan O’Scanlon and Caroline Casagrande today called for the 11 public officials indicted on federal charges by U.S. Attorney Chris Christie to resign immediately from their offices, saying that despite a presumption of innocence they would not be able to do their jobs effectively with a cloud of suspicion hanging over their heads.
