The Monmouth County Legislative delegation has issued the following statement in response to the claim made by Vice President Joseph Biden concerning Gov. Corzine’s jobs record:

“As representatives of Monmouth County, we have seen job losses and financial woes increase dramatically over the past four years, and it’s impossible to see any real strides the Corzine administration has made towards remedying the situation.

Senator Jennifer Beck, Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande attended a press conference this afternoon at Monmouth Park Racetrack to announce that the Borough of Oceanport has been awarded a $22 million loan by the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust (NJEIT) for improvements at the racetrack.

Voters in New Jersey, where property taxes have risen relentlessly every year of Governor Jon Corzine's administration, are too smart to believe the governor's wild campaign claims of tax relief.

While some may think that today’s Assembly State Government Committee’s approval of a bill defining the electoral and campaign requirements of New Jersey’s Lieutenant Governor represents progress in setting forth the parameters for the office, Assembly Republicans Caroline Casagrande, Declan O’Scanlon, and Jay Webber see it a different way.

Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon, a member of the Assembly Budget Committee, and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande said today that despite the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s insistence on raising tolls, the state’s transportation needs could be funded from existing state revenues and called on the Governor to reject the Authority’s latest plan.

The Assembly today passed legislation honoring Israel, including plans to make permanent the New Jersey Israel Commission and to commemorate Israel's 60th anniversary.

12th District Legislators Senator Jennifer Beck, Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon, and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande today sent a letter to Senate President Richard Codey and Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts asking them to immediately post a bill they are sponsoring- which would prohibit school employees from receiving salary increases for obtaining advanced degrees from institutions which are unaccredited by an agency accepted by the U.S. Department of Education, or being reimbursed for tuition from an unaccredited institution- when the Legislature reconvenes for the fall session.
