(TRENTON) - Legislation Assemblymen Jack Conners, Dr. Herbert C. Conaway, Jr., and John F. McKeon sponsored to prohibit the distribution of election campaign funds to any charitable organization in which a candidate or an immediate family member is directly involved was released by an Assembly committee today.

TRENTON -- Senate President Richard J. Codey (D-Essex) today released the following statement on the Assembly State Government Committee's approval of bill A4010/S2193, which would move New Jersey's presidential primary election up to the first Tuesday in February:

(TRENTON) - An Assembly panel today released a bill sponsored by Assemblymen Herbert C. Conaway, Jr., MD, and Jack Conners that would allow the state treasurer to sell a former State Police barracks in Edgewater Park, Burlington County to a private buyer.

Assemblyman Rick Merkt wants to reduce the number of legislative elections by giving Senators one six-year term and one four-year term every decade; the Assemby would get two three-year terms, followed by a four-year term. The Morris County Republican wants the Legislature to allow voters to decide whether they want a Constitutional Amendment to allow this.
