Doug Will Say Anything To Get Elected!

New Brunswick - In an effort to be all things to all people Doug Forrester will say absolutely anything to get elected. This past week we witnessed his lack of conviction on the issue of embryonic stem cell research. Now, in yesterday's Asbury Park Press he perpetrates a topic of hypocrisy that he's revisited throughout this campaign for Governor.

DOUG'S DECEPTIONS CONTINUE THROUGHOUT 101.5 DEBATE

DOUG DECEIVED LISTENERS ON HIS OUT-OF-THE-MAINSTREAM POSITIONS

DOUG'S DECEPTION: "Well I certainly don't [stand with George Bush in the way of promoting embryonic stem cell research], I let the President speak for himself. … I'm a strong advocate of stem cell research."

REALITY: Forrester Opposes Embryonic Stem Cell Research And Supports Only Adult Stem Cell Research - Which Scientists Say Is Inadequate.

2005: Forrester Took Bush's Position On Embryonic Stem Cell Research - A De Facto Ban. In May 2005, Forrester said, "I think that the President's handling of this issue is in the right - to the extent that embryonic stem cell research is available with the lines that are set aside, that is acceptable to me." In October 2005, the Star-Ledger reported that "Forrester has the same position as Bush on embryonic stem cell research: they both oppose public funding, which many scientists say is a de facto ban." The Ledger also reported that advocates of embryonic stem cell research, citing the fact that Bush's policy allowed funding only for existing stem cell lines, "say the Bush policy amounts to a virtual ban on the research because the existing lines are disintegrating and contaminated with animal cells." Monmouth County Democrats

Republicans need a history lesson
The Republican candidates for Freeholder have unveiled their lawn signs which attempt to rewrite history.
The top of the lawn signs call for voters to "Cut Spending Now – a concept that Democratic candidates Rebecca Aaronson and Barbara McMorrow support. However, by reading the signs voters would be misled to believe that the Republicans will fight to cut spending – yet it is the all Republican board that has allowed the budget to double in the last 15 years to $435 million dollars.

Where's Aaronson's Call To Investigate the WMUA?
Multi-Million Dollar Surplus Wasted by People She Appointed. Homeowners Forced to Swallow 33 Percent Rate Increase To Cover Losses.

On September 20, 2005, Rebecca Aaronson released a request that some government entities face a full audit. We noticed she left off the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority (WMUA), so we asked if that is because she has appointed members to the board and that key Democratic supporters are on the WMUA. We also went on the record that some $7 million was gone from the WMUA coffers and wanted to know why someone who wants to lead the county, like Aaronson hopes to, would think that this big of a loss by a government entity wasn't worthy of investigation. So far, she hasn't replied, but a member of the WMUA board called to complain about the figure. He said it was too high. We thought it was accurate, but we were off by a bit.

Menendez Announces EPA Investigation of Illegal Trash Dumps in New Jersey
Jersey City, NJ – U.S. Representative Robert Menendez (D-Hoboken) today announced that inspection teams from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have recently visited garbage dumps being operated alongside the New York Susquehanna and Western (NYS&W) rail line in North Bergen. The EPA’s action came in response to a letter Menendez and U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson) sent to the EPA in May calling for investigations into the sites.
