TRENTON – In honor of Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jon T. Hicks, Jr., Acting Governor  Richard J. Codey signed the following Executive Order calling for the United States and New Jersey flags to fly at half-staff on Thursday, September 20.

Codey.

(TRENTON) - Legislation Assemblymen Jeff Van Drew, Neil M. Cohen, Nelson T. Albano and former Assemblyman Peter J. Barnes, Jr., sponsored to impose tougher penalties on motorists who kill or injure people in hit-and-run accidents was signed into law today by Acting Governor Richard J. Codey.

ACTING GOVERNOR SIGNS LEGISLATION EXPANDING REGION’S AIR TRAFFIC CAPACITY 

TRENTON – Acting Governor Richard J. Codey today signed legislation allowing the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to designate one airport in each state for expansion. The bill mirrors legislation passed in New York and will allow the Port Authority to purchase the lease of Stewart Airport, which will then be expanded in an effort to ease the burden of excessive air traffic on the region’s airports.

ACTING GOVERNOR CODEY ANNOUNCES MEMBERSHIP OF CAMPUS SECURITY TASK FORCE TRENTON – Acting Governor Richard J. Codey today announced the membership of the Campus Security Task Force, which was formed in response to the recent shootings at Virginia Tech. The task force will be co-chaired by Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness Director Dick Canas and Commission on Higher Education Executive Director Jane Oates.
