DOHERTY AND REILLY USING DEMOCRAT BOSS MONEY TO MISLEAD VOTERS ON ENVIRONMENTCORODEMUS AND KEAN HAVE SOLID RECORD OF PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Atlantic Highlands & Wall NJ: Assemblymen Steve Corodemus and Sean Kean today said that Matt Doherty and Jim Reilly are now resorting to using their Democrat Boss money to launch negative attacks designed to mislead the public regarding the environment.

In a mailpiece that arrived in mailboxes yesterday, Doherty and Reilly attacked Kean and Corodemus on their environmental record. Despite Doherty and Reilly’s boss-funded attacks, the voters of Monmouth County are well aware of Corodemus and Kean's long-standing commitment to a clean environment.

Kean has received the endorsement and full support of the New Jersey Environmental Federation and the Sierra Club in this election and was a co-sponsor of New Jersey’s clean car bill aimed at reducing air pollution.

Corodemus served for six years as chairman of the Assembly Environment Committee, sponsored the state's beach replenishment program, legislation creating a dedicated fund for environmental clean-ups and the state's open space preservation program. He has received many endorsements and awards during his service to the people of the State of New Jersey including one in 1995 from Clean Ocean Action for his "Outstanding leadership and achievement to protect our ocean."

"Our opponents are desperate and now they are lashing out using the war chest they’ve accumulated from the Norcross-McGreevey Democrat machine," Corodemus said. "I am proud of my record on the environment and the voters in this district will not be fooled by slick, negative mail from our opponents."

"Launching this attack on us when I’ve been endorsed by two of New Jersey's leading environmental protection organizations just shows the truth is no obstacle for our opponents," Kean said. "Our opponents are trailing in the polls so they are now resorting to misleading attacks."

The irony is that Doherty and Reilly were forced to return a $5,200 contribution earlier this year from Lyondell, a chemical company that manufactures MTBE while legislation affecting that industry was before the Legislature.

Doherty and Reilly received $148,000 from the New Democratic Assembly Leadership PAC which also received money from Lyondell.

Doherty and Reilly: Dirty boss money, dirty politics, and a dirty environment.
