KAVANAUGH: AG SHOULD RE-OPEN ABBOTT PRE-SCHOOL FRAUD CASES NOW!
Senator Walter J. Kavanaugh (R-Somerset/Morris) called upon Attorney General Zulima V. Farber to re-open cases of alleged corruption in the Abbott preschool program that were abandoned by her predecessor. Media reports have indicated that the Office of the Attorney General refused to pursue hundreds of thousands of dollars of questionable spending on the part of privately-owned Abbott day care center operators.

Farber to re-open cases of alleged corruption in the Abbott preschool program that were abandoned by her predecessor. “The Attorney General shouldn’t be debating whether to re-open cases that involve allegations of rent kickbacks, Las Vegas gambling trips and payments for a Jaguar using taxpayer dollars,� said Kavanaugh. “What exactly is there for the Corzine Administration to debate? Empanel a grand jury, indict the crooks and chiselers who have used the State Treasury as their own personal ATM, and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.�
“I hope that this episode is not proof that we are going to be subjected to another four years of Peter Harvey style of toleration of corruption in government. Given the reckless spending, taxing and borrowing schemes of the past four years, I’m not sure how much more of this the taxpayers will be able take,� said Kavanaugh.
“This is just another example of how the Democrat State Budget plan is out of touch with the voters of this State. The budget needs to be reformed before more taxpayers money is pumped into it. The Abbott preschool and school construction programs mandated by the Supreme Court are awash in corruption, waste and possible criminality, yet nothing is done while these abuses are permitted to continue unabated. Now, the Trenton Democrats are demanding another $12.7 billion for school construction in Abbott districts with no real reforms in place, while middle class communities get nothing but the bills.�
