FAIRNESS ALLIANCE OUT OF TOUCH WITH NEW JERSEY FAMILIES
Senator Anthony Bucco, (R-25), issued the following statement regarding budget proposals made by the Fairness Alliance today.“After five years of Democrat budgets we are now saddled with an additional $11 billion in taxes, an additional $30 billion in debt and a ten percent increase in spending this year and no more in property tax relief. The proposals made by the Fairness Alliance today would only add to this sad fiscal history.
“New Jersey is no longer affordable for many families. Just last year almost 60,000 people left this state, forced to move by the high cost of living. The additional taxes, and lack of an increase in municipal and school aid in this budget will cost the average New Jersey family over $1,000 more this year. Apparently the Fairness Alliance would like more people to move out of the State
“It is disturbing that the Fairness Alliance wants to treat working families and businesses in this state as a personal ATM. Just remember that, Jon Schure, one of the founding members of the Fairness Alliance was one of the architects of Jim Florio’s failed $2.8 billion tax increase. Jon Shure and his cronies are mistaken if they think we can tax our way out of the mess that five years of Democratic budgets have brought us.
